The way homo sapiens hear is an interesting thing.
It is the only sensation that is truly physically connected with the brain all of the time. We may be touched, or hit on the head, in which situation, our brains may absorb the impact. With sound, however, direct physical contact with the brain is unavoidable. A longitudinal wave enters an ear canal and causes the ear drum to vibrate, sending signals to three of the smallest bones in the human body. As it passes these bones, the vibrations are transferred to a sealed chamber known as the cochlea. Cillia inside the cochlea vibrate, and transfer these vibrations to nerves that create electrical impulses; impulses which the brain interprets as sound.
Do not expect cliches here. Aldaraia was born from an excessive desire to project one's self with a kinship not only with music, but with sound. Formed in 2005 by two musicians from Ohio, it developed slowly. Little happened for the first few years. Songs were written, but never heard. Words were compiled but never spoken. Out of this period of inactivity was born a starved desire to create, to design something that could be heard or viewed and remembered and kept, a desire to speak as the voice of many, not only as the voice of one.
If you were given this desire, you too would have struggled to keep control during its nascency. Many things happened. People changed and drifted. Ideas and formulas developed and evolved. Conceptions and understandings of all things shifted, until, one day, the almost violent desire to make subsided and became part of its host. Its toxins receded and it adapted to the environment from which it was birthed. A symbiotic relationship formed, and within days, the host began to create.
Aldaraia is the seed of that symbiosis. It is a collection of sounds and images that does not truly focus on any one thing. To call it a band would be a fallacy, and to point out that it is the work of one man would be giving it too much credit. Everything you hear, see, and read here was created, and that itself is truly the only goal of its creator. To create. Each song, and each sight is crafted with pristine detail and relentless perfectionism. Each song is a blend of intricate songwriting, experimental and complementary instrumentation, visual sound design and individual aesthetic. You will not hear a song created under the Aldaraia moniker that sounds akin to any other. All things in existence were created from a clean slate, and that is an ideal that Aldaraia applies to its creations.
All things are related, nothing is ever the same.
